Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. The talented actress began her acting career by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Passionate about acting since the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. Mumps made her lose hearing in one of her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. When she was in college studying drama, she moved in New York City with her ambitions in mind. Hunter made her Broadway debut due to a chance meeting in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress supporting the lead character of Swing Shift. Since then, she has appeared in numerous television series, films and movies over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
